HOMESTAY/SHARE HOUSE

  • Min length of stay: Homestay dates are based accordingly to the course duration.
  • Arrival time: please keep in mind the arrival time to the homestay should be a reasonable hour that would suit a family environment.
  • Late check-out: one extra night fee will be applied if the student is expecting lunch and/or dinner on the departure date.
  • To apply for a Twin Room: two students must arrive together.
  • Special requests: must be on the application form. Please note we cannot guarantee the request, however, our providers will do their best to accommodate. 
  • Allergies: must be on the application form – If we are notified less than 2 weeks before arrival – a fee may apply.
  • Late booking request: any booking that is requested 2 weeks or less before the check-in date will incur a $250 fee.
  • Confirmation of accommodation placement and airport transfer will be sent one week before arrival. Please note that sometimes there may be a delay due to late requests, busy periods, or reasons beyond our control. The accommodation team will always provide updates on the process.
  • At least 2 weeks' notice applies for canceling or moving homestay.
  • For urgent change of homestay, additional fee $120 applies. Transport fee is not included.
  • Flight details are required to be sent at least 4 weeks before arrival.
  • For late arrival flights past 10pm we need to double check with the provider. If the host is unable to accommodate the late arrival, the over 18 student will need to book and stay at a hotel for the first night at their own cost. 
  • For visa delay, please provide 2 weeks' notice to avoid the provider's cancellation fee.
  • Placement fee is non-refundable once a booking is made.

Notice / Payment

  • At least 6 weeks’ notice is required for homestay/Share House requests and payment is required within 5 business days to secure the room.
  • If a request is sent within 4 – 6 weeks before arrival, payment is required within 5 business days to secure the room.
  • If a request is sent within 2 – 4 weeks before arrival, the Accommodation Team will need to check availability. Once availability is confirmed, payment is required within 3 business days to secure the room.
  • Any request less than 2 weeks' notice - a late booking fee AUD 250 applies. For notice under 2 weeks - once availability is confirmed, payment is required within 48 hours to secure the host family.
  • 2025 homestay rates apply if the student check in from 1st January 2025 onwards (re-issue letter of offer with 2025 rates after the original letter of offer expired, applies to visa delay situation without exception)
  • For visa delay, please provide 2 weeks' notice to avoid the provider's cancellation fee.
  • For airport transfer cancellation, please provide 3 days' notice to avoid the provider's cancellation fee.
  • Placement fee is non-refundable once a booking is made.

RESIDENTAL

  • Min length of stay: 4 weeks (subject to minimum weeks per provider in the terms based on season and availability i.e Unilodge).
  • Max length of stay: 12 weeks (depending on provider)
  • If the student does not specify the provider: we will book with 2stay. To secure the booking we need payment and flight tickets at least 4 weeks before check-in.
  • If the student requests any provider other than 2stay, we will need to check availability. 
  • If a student requests a twin room: the student will be placed with another student who will be applying for a twin room with that provider.
  • Late booking request: any booking that is requested 2 weeks or less before the check-in date will incur a $250 fee

  • Residential requests always need to be checked by the accommodation team as rooms are always subject to availability. Please note: (2stay is guaranteed availability with payment up to 6 weeks before check-in and flight ticket 3 weeks before check in. A4s is guaranteed availability with flight ticket, passport, WhatsApp number and payment up to 6 weeks before check in. Please note: This does not include peak months. During peak months, rooms are subject to availability)
  • Flight details are required to be sent at least 4 weeks before arrival. Please note: 2stay do not guarantee the booking if the flight is not received at least 3 weeks before arrival (even if the room is already booked and paid for)
  • Commute: On average, residential properties are located up to 45 minutes by public transport to and from the school (depending on the allocated suburb)
  • *For visa delay, please provide 2 weeks' notice to avoid the provider's cancellation fee.
  • For airport transfer cancellation, please provide 3 days' notice to avoid the provider's cancellation fee.
  • Placement fee is non-refundable once a booking is made.

Notice / Payment

  • At least 6 weeks’ notice is required for Residential requests and payment is required within 5 business days to secure the room once availability is confirmed. 
  • If a request is sent within 4 – 6 weeks before arrival, payment is required within 48 hours to secure the room once availability is confirmed (not incl 2stay, A4s)
  • If a request is sent within 2 – 4 weeks before arrival, please note: the chance of availability is much lower. Payment is required within 48 hours to secure the room once availability is confirmed.
  • We do not accept requests under 2 weeks' notice - we can make an exception for VIP agencies or extremely urgent situations only. For notice under 2 weeks - once availability is confirmed, payment is required within 48 hours to secure the room.
  • Furnished Property Group only holds rooms for 24 hours therefore payment must be made within 24 hours to secure a room at FPG once availability is confirmed.

Confirmation of placement

  • Accommodation confirmation is sent 1 week prior to the student's arrival. 
  • There may be a delay with some profiles due to late requests, busy school holiday/festive periods and Junior Holiday Program Season (Jan, March, June - Aug). The accommodation team will provide update if there is a delay from the providers.

Extra

  • An extra one night fee applies for late checkout.
  • Special diet fee applies for special diet request. Example Gluten Free, Halal, Vegetarian meals.
  • We only arrange accommodation for students and parents enrolled at IH.


Cancellation policy/Visa 

  • Cancellation fees apply and are subject to provider policies. The final decision of the total fees charged is decided by the accommodation provider, not IH Sydney Training Services. For any urgent cases, the cancellation fees will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
  • We require at least two weeks' notice for any cancelations or for any changes to a booking. For notice given under 2 weeks, if there are any fees charged it is up to the provider. For Homestay / Share House - usually 2 weeks minimum is taken with placement fee. For Residential - usually 4 weeks and placement fee are taken after arrival. However, with residential it will always depend on the specific provider's policy - please check with accommodation team. Urgent cases are always assessed on a case-by-case basis
  • When moving Homestay/Share House, 2 weeks fee applies and if the reason is not urgent a new placement fee also applies. If the student is to move earlier than 2 weeks - any extra days will need to be paid to the new host. A new homestay is subject to availability at time of request.

Prices/Payment 

  • For students arriving in 2025, please refer to 2025 rates on our accommodation website.
  • Prices are subject to change and accommodation is subject to availability. 
  • Accommodation invoice must be paid in full before we can book rooms with the providers.
